The federal government has announced a significant expansion to dental care funding in its 2023 federal budget. The budget was released this past March and includes roughly $13 billion more dedicated to dental care services to be rolled out over the next five years.

Plans are currently in place to ensure that Canadians without dental insurance are able to access the care they need. In 2023, eligibility for this expanded dental care plan will expand to children under the age of 18, seniors, and individuals with disabilities.

If you have not applied for the 1st round of benefits, the deadline is fast approaching on June 30th, 2023. The benefits currently allow families earning $90,000 annually to receive dental care supplements for children under 12 years old at a significantly lower cost.

If you do not make the cut-off period for the first period, you may be eligible for the second period, which starts from July 1st to June 30th, 2024.
